Triads can be derived by the intervals between their notes:

Major = Major 3rd + minor 3rd
minor = minor 3rd + Major 3rd
diminished = minor 3rd + minor 3rd

Or, triads can be derived from the i, iii, and v notes of their parent scale; Major scale for Major triads, minor scale for minor triads, and the locrian scale for diminished triads.

C Major = CDEFGABC =CEG
A minor = ABCDEFGA =ACE
B locrian = BCDEFGAB =BDF

Fill out as many of these triad reference charts as possible to build familiarity with triads and their intervals. Start with the charts that include example triads and roots, then progress to the charts that don't have examples after you've memorized the triad's intervals, and the cycle of 4ths.
